National Steam is a Quarkspace offshoot containing predominately Paul Williams and Dave Wexler. They released an album in 1998 featuring experimental electronic soundscapes combined with a few examples psych-prog songwork. They played a couple shows on their own and few additional shows with the mothership, Quarkspace.

Natty Steam also had a "spacefolds" series called SteamDream, the first two versions are long out of print on cassette. Someday they may get the remaster treatment. There are also hours of soundscape material with Paul and Dave that may see the light of release, someday.
